Dear Neighbor,

I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your new State Senator.

For the past twenty years, I have represented House District 21 in the New Mexico House of Representatives, so I am no stranger to most of the homes receiving this letter. Last November, Tim Keller, our outstanding State Senator, was elected New Mexico State Auditor. His election to higher office created an open Senate seat that had to be filled by the Bernalillo County Commission.

After hearing from many constituents from the district and considering my record of accomplishment in representing this area, the Commission selected me to serve out the remainder of Tim's unexpired term.

I very much took forward to working with my constituents- both old ones and new-- in our efforts to improve the economy and quality of life in Senate District 17, Albuquerque's International District. I will be available after the session for constituent meetings throughout our community.

It is an honor to serve and represent Albuquerque's East Gateway neighborhoods in the N.M. Senate.

It is a job I take seriously — especially during these challenging times.

Be assured, you can count on me. I will continue to take on special interests and fight for our priorities, including:

There is much to do, and I cannot do it without your help.

To do my best possible job as your State Senator, I need to know your views. Many of the ideas for bills I’ve introduced come directly from constituents. Your suggestions and opinions help guide me in my work, so please take a moment to read and fill out the Constituent Survey form.

Thank you for your gracious and continued support.
