Mimi Stewart is Listening, Building, Working
Listening to the People
Mimi knows the people and concerns of District 21. She
asks questions, attends neighborhood meetings and has walked door-to-door to
talk with her constituents - and neighbors - for eight years. Mimi has
initiated many bills at the specific request of the people she represents.
Building Partnerships
Mimi stands out as a bipartisan leader who builds coalitions
and fights partisan bickering. Mimi brought people together to create
the landmark Education Reform Bill and the recent Unemployment Trust Fund
coalitions.
Working Hard
An award winning New Mexico teacher, Mimi works hard, both
inside and outside of government.
Bills that Mimi has sponsored have helped to:
Reform Our Schools
Ban Drive-up Liquor Sales
Promote a State-wide Reading Initiative
Improve Funding for our Classrooms and Teachers
Crack Down on graffiti, gangs, street crime and criminals
Expand Youth Offender and Drug Prevention programs
